ViiV Healthcare is seeking a driven, relationship‑focused Key Account Manager to accelerate the uptake of our HIV Prevention brand across Sexual Health services. This is a high‑visibility, high‑impact role where you will partner closely with healthcare professionals and key decision-makers to support improved patient outcomes and shape the future of HIV prevention.
This role is central to the success of our UK business and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an organisation that champions innovation, inclusion, and excellence.
The territory covers West and Central London, with 100% of time travelling around this geography to deliver customer interactions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Management
1. Develop and execute strategic account plans that align with national brand strategies and campaigns, ensuring optimal adoption of ViiV's long acting injectable portfolio of medicines.
2. Analyse customer insights, sales data, and market intelligence to identify opportunities, inform decision-making, and set account priorities.
3. Monitor account performance using structured review processes and adapt strategies to drive sustainable success and long-term growth, utilizing Strategic Excellence capabilities to define account objectives based on insights.
4. Entrusted with full responsibility (SPOC) for the strategic direction and performance of allocated key accounts within your territory ensuring whole system working and prioritisation of account enablement.
Digital & Data Capabilities
5. Deliver integrated omnichannel engagement strategies that include face-to-face interactions, digital platforms, and multimedia tools for impactful customer experiences.
6. Coordinate cross-functional activities across multiple engagement channels (e.g., meetings, peer-to-peer programs, emails) to ensure consistent messaging and a seamless customer journey, reflecting Customer Value and Experience principles.
7. Leverage innovative AI digital tools to optimize communication, build relationships, and improve stakeholder interaction across the healthcare system to include but not be limited to Field Force Navigator for call recording and AI coaching; AIPex for planning and implementation & Co-pilot.
Customer Relationship Management
8. Build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including Professors, Consultants, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Pharmacists, and other NHS personnel within hospitals and treatment centres.
9. Act as the primary account liaison, engaging with internal teams (e.g., Medical, External Expert Engagement Managers) to address customer needs and enhance the overall experience.
10. Proactively resolve barriers to access, implementation challenges, and service issues while ensuring alignment with ViiV’s values and offerings, using Competitive Selling capabilities to effectively position ViiV long acting injectable products and services.
Market Access and Advocacy
11. Facilitate market access for ViiV products through compelling commercial and clinical conversations, utilizing Budget Impact Models, Value Stories, and tailored Value Propositions.
12. Drive HCP advocacy within accounts, collaborating with the External Engagement Experience Lead to support national advocacy strategies and build a robust network of external advocates.
13. Provide actionable insights on system barriers, access challenges, and service provision gaps, utilizing Business Intelligence capabilities to inform future strategy development and operational priorities.
Operational Excellence
14. Deliver against commercial objectives, KPIs, and account plans within agreed timelines and budgets.
15. Implement pilot projects and lead the dissemination of best practices across the organization to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
16. Operate within ViiV's compliance and ethical frameworks, ensuring all activities align with company values, legal standards, and Clinical Expertise to support the appropriate use of ViiV products.
Collaboration and Coordination
17. Partner with internal stakeholders, including multiskilled team colleagues and other Key Account Managers, to ensure a unified approach to customer engagement and account management.
18. Foster Cross-functional Ways of Working by building authentic partnerships across different therapeutic areas and functions to achieve shared goals and drive customer-centric outcomes.
19. Lead project management efforts, ensuring the timely delivery of account plans, initiatives, and shared objectives.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and ViiV’s ethical standards in all activities.
Basic Qualifications
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:
20. Successful track record in pharmaceutical key account management roles in specialised secondary care, managing complex accounts with customers at all seniority levels, including key opinion leaders.
21. Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at pace, at all levels of seniority, both internally and externally.
22. Strategic Account Management: demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans that deliver measurable results aligned to business priorities, holding territory teams to account in Plan delivery and to spot opportunities for partnering externally in order to improve health outcomes in the relevant area.
23. Business Intelligence: Proficiency in using data, analytics and artificial intelligence to inform decision-making, drive performance and constantly adopt efficiencies in ways of working.
24. Degree-level qualification in life sciences, healthcare, or a related field.
Preferred Qualification
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
25. Experience working in HIV or Sexual Health on products in early launch phases.
26. Experience working in a pharmaceutical field role the relevant geography, in a secondary care capacity.
27. Successful experience working in Market Access in the UK Pharmaceutical environment.
28. Deep knowledge of the NHS and understanding of its structure, policies, and funding pathways.
29. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
30. Track record of adapting to changing priorities and market dynamics, with frequent briefings and agility in role.
