Teaching Assistant TA 1 x Fixed Term Contract From 3 rd November 2025 – 20 th July 2026 27.5 hours per week. TTO 39 weeks per year Band F SCP 7-10. £16,579.87 - £17,671.89 per annum (actual) About Us & The Role At Race Leys Infant School, we cater for children from 4 years to 7 years. We are a happy, forward thinking school, passionate about ensuring all children have access to the highest quality education in a safe and stimulating environment. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team to work with small groups of children with special education needs. The role will also include ½ hour per day of lunchtime cover to supervise our children with safe, purposeful and creative play during the lunchtime break which will help support positive behaviour over the lunchtime period. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to help all of our learners thrive. The contract is to commence as soon as possible and will be fixed term to run until 20 th July 2026 in the first instance. It is term time only with 3 remaining teacher training days this academic year (39 weeks in total). The hours will be 27.5 hours per week, 8.40am – 3.10pm, Monday – Friday. Key Requirements: We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who: Holds a recognised and relevant NVQ level 2 teaching assistant qualification (or equivalent) and have undertaken other appropriate training or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, experience and skills. Has a good understanding of how children learn and develop. Ideally has experience of working in a primary school. Is able to support the class teacher in meeting the needs of all children. Is able to work with individuals and small groups of children. Is able to plan programmes of work for focus groups of pupils under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO. Is motivated, enthusiastic and adaptable. Can show initiative and is able to work as part of a team. Has excellent communication skills.
