Ecommerce & Development Manager
We’re looking for a brilliant new team member to manage our custom built marketplace platform: the content of our shop and the development roadmap.
You will have a passion for ecommerce and how to optimise the online customer experience to enable discovery of both our brand and our products. You will also be able to add a commercial lens to decisions, being used to driving key ecommerce KPIs.
You will love collaborating with others, able to work with internal creative teams as well as our external development team to deliver a detailed programme of activity.
You’ll be full of energy and enthusiasm, with an inquisitive mind. Always looking for better ways to do things, for ways to drive efficiencies or commercial improvements and looking for new technologies that can enable us to do this. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
Key responsibilities:
* The web development roadmap
* Identify and prioritise new features & updates that can improve the overall customer journey and drive internal efficiencies
* Define requirements for development features working with wider team for input and brief development teams
* Manage development releases, tickets and internal testing
* Manage the backlog of internal requests and suggestions (from all departments), evaluate the impact and feedback to relevant teams
* Manage the relationship with the development agency
* Support with managing our external devops team and their tickets
* Manage 3rd party technology solutions and any programme of work with them
* Managing the onsite user experience
* Work with product and content teams on a programme of activity to optimise shop pages, navigation and site taxonomy
* Work with internal teams to optimise the presentation of products and product listing information
* Take part in planning of campaigns and seasonal events to provide insight and suggestions on product merchandising
* Work with content & product team on front-end optimisations and capabilities
* Work with content teams on SEO focus areas and opportunities
* Analytics & reporting
* Use data analytics tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, Google Merchant, trading reports) to monitor and analyse KPIs
* Regularly report on ecommerce performance providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
* Continually monitor competitor activity, market trends and technical innovations.
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years experience managing ecommerce web development projects and interacting with development teams
* Strong understanding of the ecommerce customer journey across device and where to look for optimisation opportunities
* Proven track record of increasing site performance metrics especially conversion rate
* Understanding of ecommerce website structure, both front-end and back-end
* Ability to hold your own in moderately technical conversations regarding ecommerce development
* Experience managing and optimising the taxonomy, navigation and product content of an ecommerce site
* Experience using content management systems
* Experience using web ticketing systems
* Experience managing multiple delivery workstreams
* Strong knowledge of Google Analytics and experience using this day to day
* First-rate project management and organisational skills
* Strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
Location & salary:
This is a full-time hybrid role, including 2-3 days in our Twickenham office.
Guide salary is £50k - £60k and will be based on experience.
