Quality Engineer (Progressing to Manager)

Set2Recruit are supporting a well-established UK manufacturer in their search for a Quality Engineer ready to step into a broader role with increased ownership and responsibility.
This is a great opportunity for someone with 2–3 years’ experience in quality engineering or assurance who wants to take the next step, working within a supportive and friendly team while developing leadership capability.
Our client is an established SME specialising in the design and manufacture of scientific equipment used across education, research, and industrial sectors. With continued UK and international growth, they’re looking for someone to take ownership of their quality systems and play a key role in driving improvement across the business.
The Role
This position will support and take increasing ownership of the company’s Quality Management Systems (ISO9001 & ISO14001), ensuring products, processes, and operations meet required standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
You’ll work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams, acting as a key point of contact for quality-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting and maintaining the Quality Management System (ISO9001 & ISO14001)
* Assisting with audits (internal and external) and ensuring ongoing compliance
* Investigating quality issues and working cross-functionally to implement solutions
* Monitoring and reporting on quality KPIs to identify trends and improvements
* Managing quality documentation (procedures, work instructions, reports)
* Contributing to continuous improvement activities across production and processes
* Supporting supplier quality and internal process improvements
What We’re Looking For
* 2–3 years’ experience in Quality Engineering / Quality Assurance
* Working knowledge of ISO9001 (ISO14001 exposure beneficial but not essential)
* Experience supporting audits and quality systems
* A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in continuous improvement
* Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams
* Someone keen to grow into a more senior / leadership role over time
