We are seeking an experienced Senior EC&I Design Engineer with an electrical bias and EPLAN experience to join their growing team in Ellesmere Port. Key Responsibilities: As a Senior EC&I Design Engineer, you will lead and deliver technically robust EC&I designs across complex projects, including: Developing, reviewing, and approving EC&I design documentation, drawings, and functional design specifications using AutoCAD and EPLAN. Compiling or providing guidance on functional design specifications, FAT, and SAT documents for analytical and metering systems. Performing and validating electrical calculations, including cable sizing, I.S. loops (DSDs), AC/DC load schedules, lighting, and thermal capacity. Checking and approving the work of other design engineers, providing mentoring and liaising with external approvers. Interfacing with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of EC&I systems throughout design, installation, and commissioning phases. Driving continuous improvement in design quality, constructability, and lifecycle performance. Collaborating with site and commissioning engineers to ensure designs consider maintenance, shipping, and decommissioning perspectives. Requirements: Ideally 10 years' experience within hazardous area industries. HNC or Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Demonstrable experience designing hazardous area installations using EPLAN. CompEx EX01-EX04 and/or EX12 certification. Strong knowledge of electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 (18th Edition). Why us?
