Disrepair Solicitor - Housing Management


I'm currently working with a national, Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked law firm that is looking to recruit a Disrepair Solicitor into its highly regarded Housing Management team, following continued growth and success.This team has expanded significantly over the past decade and is now one of the firm's fastest-growing practice areas, acting for Registered Providers and Local Authorities nationwide. They are regularly appointed to some of the largest national and regional frameworks and are well known in the sector for their success defending claims at trial.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor with housing disrepair experience to take ownership of a litigated caseload, working on high-quality matters for social landlords.The role will involve:Managing your own caseload of litigated housing conditions (disrepair) claimsDefending claims on behalf of Registered Providers and Local AuthoritiesDrafting Defences, witness statements, and preparing matters for trialHandling claims from pre-litigation through to trialWorking as part of a well-established and supportive specialist teamDue to the team's strong track record at trial, there has been a steady influx of new instructions, making this an exciting time to join.
About You
Previous experience within a Social Housing or Housing Management teamExperience defending disrepair claims for Registered Providers and/or Local AuthoritiesA proven ability to run cases to trialA genuine interest in the social housing sectorStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAble to manage a varied caseload and work effectively as part of a teamAdvocacy experience is advantageous, but not essential
