Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent, 37.5hrs per week Support Accountant within the Financial Management Team in Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking a Band 5 who is wanting to continue their financial journey or a Band 4 who is keen to start their journey. The post holder will be part of the Community Services Business Unit and will be expected to help the services meet all their financial requirements.
The Support Accountant will hold regular reviews with their peers and specialist colleagues to support intelligence gathering and resolve any queries.
Responsibilities
* Budget statement reconciliation & analysis
* Producing budget statements from the ledger
* Investigating variances & making any necessary adjustments
* Implementing adjustments to income & expenditure for forecast and budget setting
* Validation of new spend & involvement in business cases
* Working closely with the assistant management accountant
* Active engagement with budget holders & other Trust colleagues
The post holder must be able to work on their own or as part of a team. The post holder must be able to prioritise and manage the fluctuating demands on the service.
The ideal person should be able to both; use their own initiative to manage their workload and set priorities, be able to work on specific instruction as set by management.

About the role
The post holder will work within the Financial Management Team for Community Services. Working with the BU Accountant and Directorate Accountant to deliver financial support and understanding to the Services Managers and Leads within the Business Unit. The post holder will assist with the financial position for the Business Unit.
