What you will do:
* Manage an active portfolio of commercial customers along the M4 corridor west.
* Maintain a portfolio of SME customers through account management and promotion of the Metro Bank relationship banking brand and products.
* Make lending decisions supporting Metro Bank’s business objectives while ensuring operational processes are followed correctly.
* Build key relationships with internal stakeholders.
* Maximise customer relationships while remaining compliant and adhering to Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
* Be responsible for credit risk and financial crime risk of your portfolio.
* Support retail colleagues in local stores, working collaboratively to generate new business and achieve results.
* You will be based from home and work hybridly, developing and maintaining a portfolio of SME customers in your local area, including Cardiff, Bristol, Swindon, etc. If you live or work in this area and have the relevant experience, please apply!

What you will need:
* Experience in portfolio management of commercial SME banking customers, including business growth, within banking or financial services.
* Sound knowledge of commercial banking, with the ability to understand and write credit papers.
* Portfolio and relationship management experience with a proven track record of growth.
* Excellent communication and relationship management skills, passionate about relationship-led banking.
* Proactive approach to meet and exceed objectives.
* Ability to build rapport internally and externally.
* Awareness of financial crime and best practices.
* Understanding of associated risks and their implications.
