Main Duties/Responsibilities
1. Deliver key IT responsibilities
2. Plan and carry out work to meet the organisation’s IT needs.
3. Manage external IT support contracts for systems and hardware.
4. Handle internal IT help desk queries and provide regular updates.
5. Lead IT projects that improve how the organisation works.
6. Develop long-term IT proposals and assess their suitability for future projects.
7. Provide short training sessions to help staff improve their IT skills.
8. Manage IT budget areas and ensure spending is tracked.
9. Prepare purchase requests and business cases when needed.
10. Communicate effectively
11. Share ideas and proposals clearly in writing, in person, and through presentations – whether speaking to individuals or groups at any level.
12. Build and manage partnerships Negotiate agreements with partners to deliver services. Monitor how well partners perform and make sure services meet expectations.
13. Plan and deliver role responsibilities
14. Create and follow plans to make sure all duties linked to the role are completed successfully.
15. Track project progress Monitor how projects are progressing and take action if things go off track.
16. Manage project budgets
17. Set and oversee project budgets and report on how funds are used.
18. Support strategic planning
19. Help the Director develop and manage the organisation’s strategy, operational plans, budgets, and performance measures.
20. Stay up to date
21. Keep your management skills current and stay informed about developments in the industry and in project management.
Essential Criteria:
Qualifications & Experience
22. Level 4 or equivalent qualification in Business, IT Management, or a related discipline and a minimum 1 years’ experience providing IT support.
Or
23. 3 years experience managing IT support.
AND
24. Proven experience in managing third-party IT service providers and contracts
25. Demonstrated ability to manage internal IT support/help desk functions

27. Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills,
28. Proficiency in using project management and collaboration tools
29. Ability to monitor performance and take corrective action to meet objectives

Desirable Criteria:
34. Experience in drafting and managing budgets and procurement processes
35. Experience in developing and implementing strategic and operational plans
36. Experience in developing and delivering staff IT training interventions
37. Experience in evaluating long-term IT proposals and digital transformation initiatives
38. Understanding of public sector governance and funding mechanisms
