What Future Opportunities Might Involve:
* Work collaboratively as part of the DIL Simulator Team and contribute towards identifying and addressing performance limitations of the car
* Support the operation and development of our DIL Simulators, putting in place improvements to the hardware, software and testing processes to maximise the quality and robustness of the facility
* Propose novel hardware and software solutions to enhance the capability of our DIL Simulators
* Plan, execute and analyse DIL Simulator test sessions to feed into current car performance optimisation and future car concept development
* Monitor and assess correlation of the vehicle and sub-system models, ensuring validity of the simulation results and suggesting key areas for improvement
* Support the advancement of processes and in-house tools to maximise efficiency through streamlining testing, automating repetitive tasks and improving data analysis
What We Typically Look For:
Successful candidates for these roles often bring:
* Strong academic and practical background with an Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls or similar)
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* High level of computer literacy and willingness to learn new computing programmes
* Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams, to deadlines, and under minimal supervision
* Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and organised self-starter with excellent communication skills
* Flexibility with respect to working hours and comfortable with a changeable schedule
They can also have:
* Familiarity and understanding of highly integrated mechanical systems
* Experience with motor and actuator control technology such as Beckhoff
* Experience using System Monitor and ATLAS
* Familiarity with coding in Matlab or Python and use of source control tools
* Experience with simulation and performance analysis in Formula One, another top-level motorsport category or equivalent high-level engineering industry
* Appreciation of vehicle dynamics theory and modelling techniques
