We are looking for an outstanding Kitchen Assistant who is passionate about food and wants to make a difference.
You'll be working part time, 18 hours per week (3 x 6 hour shifts per week), at Cygnet Fountains, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.
Cygnet Fountains is a high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men who have severe and enduring mental illness and who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act. The individuals we support come to us following multiple placement breakdowns, failed treatment programmes, or stepping down from secure settings.

Your day-to-day includes:
* Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals
* Perform cooking tasks and other kitchen duties
* Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas, and dining room
* Wash utensils and dishes, and store them appropriately
* Rotate stock and manage deliveries
* Maintain personal hygiene to meet Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations
* Handle, maintain, and store kitchen equipment following Cygnet procedures
* Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations

You are...
* At least 2 years' experience in a commercial catering setting, preferably within care
* Holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards
* Enthusiastic, eager to learn, and an active team member
* Polite and professional, maintaining a positive attitude
* An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
* Diligent and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
* Able to work independently, as well as part of a team and under supervision
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
