Job Title: Public Programmes Officer

Hours: Full time

Bletchley Park is a vibrant heritage attraction, open daily to visitors, revealing the secrets and telling fascinating stories of the secret British World War Two codebreaking operations. The mission of the Bletchley Park Trust is to attract, engage and educate people from all over the world in order to inspire them with Bletchley Park’s crucial role in World War Two.

Bletchley Park is a great place to work, and we are committed to making it even better. An exciting opportunity has arisen for aPublic Programmes Officer,to join our Audience & Programmes team.

Working closely with the Public Programmes Manager you will support the planning, organisation and delivery of the annual public events programme, helping to engage new and existing audiences through activities that inspire deeper knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the Bletchley Park story.

You will be responsible for collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders and working across departments to oversee the smooth running of events and ensure activities are delivered to a high standard and within budget. You will maintain event plans, produce risk assessments, and deliver post event reports, making suggestions for event growth and improvement as appropriate.

To be successful you will have excellent administration and organisational skills and be confident communicating at all levels. You will work well within a team and be able to demonstrate your ability to meet deadlines. A level of volunteer management is involved and therefore you should be able to effectively coordinate and motivate others, whilst maintaining high standards and a calm professional approach. You will have good numeracy skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel. Previous experience of planning and coordinating events within a museum, heritage or similar environment is essential.

This is a hands-on role, which will include some heavy lifting to facilitate the set up and effective turnaround of event spaces.
