The Role:
Old Trafford Tour & Museum are responsible for delivering world-class tours and experiences that immerse visitors in the rich history and heritage of Manchester United Football Club, creating unforgettable memories for fans from around the globe.
We are seeking a highly organised and engaging Museum Assistant who will be responsible for welcoming all Manchester United Tour & Museum visitors and provide support with bookings, upselling of merchandise and answering queries. You will serve as a brand ambassador for Manchester United and adhere to all operational, health & safety and security procedure
Key Responsibilities:
1. To deliver the highest standards of customer service to all our guests, acknowledging the variety of languages and cultures that make up our visitor numbers.
2. To use the department’s booking system to process bookings, new sales and booking alterations.
3. To always ensure the security of tour attendees, as well as the security of the stadium.
4. To engage with guests regarding the exhibits and exhibitions as they pass through the Museum.
5. To help supervise the flow of visitors in the Museum.
6. To always ensure the Museum is presentable, clean, and tidy.
7. To upsell all ancillary Museum & Tours products and cross sell other venue related products.
8. Any other duties as reasonably requested by a manager.
The Person:
9. Previous experience in a fast-paced Contact Centre environment.
10. Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service, resolving queries and complaints quickly and effectively.
11. Strong sales focus with the ability to work consistently towards targets.
12. Excellent communication skills, with high levels of self-motivation.
13. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
14. A proactive mindset, with the ability to contribute ideas to enhance team and operational performance.
Weekend Availability
All staff are expected to be available to work at least 60% of weekends throughout the season. This includes availability for at least one day (Saturday or Sunday) each weekend during that 60% window. Weekend shifts are critical to maintaining the high standards of service and visitor experience we are known for, particularly during peak periods.
Match Day -1 Shifts
In addition, staff must be available for at least 60% of match day -1 shifts (the day prior to a home match). These days are essential for preparations and typically see increased visitor numbers, making staff coverage vital.
