Business Development Manager (BDM) - Healthcare & Social Transport
Location: Manchester or Birmingham
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum, negotiable for right person
A growing specialist transport provider is seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead strategic growth in two key areas:
1. Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT)
2. Specialist & Vulnerable Passenger Transport
This role is ideal for someone with a background in healthcare, social care, or public sector transport who can develop new opportunities, manage tenders, and build strong stakeholder relationships across NHS Trusts, ICBs, and Local Authorities.
Key Responsibilities
3. Identify and secure new business opportunities in healthcare and social transport sectors
4. Lead bids, tenders, and proposals in collaboration with internal teams
5. Build and maintain relationships with public sector stakeholders (e.g. NHS, ICBs, councils)
6. Track industry trends and align business strategy accordingly
7. Support smooth handover from sales to operations
What We're Looking For
8. Proven experience in business development, sales, or tendering
9. Knowledge of healthcare transport, social care logistics, or related public services
10. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
11. Experience managing end-to-end tender processes
12. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide
