Swimming Instructor Salary - £6,422 - £6,845 (Grade 4) Hours - 9 hours per week Contract type - Part Time Location - Central Baths Hours Monday - 15:45-18:45 Wednesday - 15:45-18:45 Friday - 15:45-18:45 Job Purpose and Role We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Swimming Instructor to join our team. In this role, you’ll deliver engaging, high quality swimming lessons that prioritise safety, confidence and enjoyment. You’ll support swimmers of all ages and abilities in developing essential skills and strong water safety awareness. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves teaching, coaching and making a meaningful impact through swimming. Duties - To undertake the practical teaching of designated groups at the appropriate level and within agreed standard. - To ensure registers are taken and the class commences on time and that late arrivals are dealt with effectively and diplomatically. - To ensure that all pupils have paid the appropriate fee prior to the class commencing in accordance with the Council’s financial regulations. - To assist the Sports & Activities Manager/Sports & Events Manager and Sports & Activities Co-ordinator to programme courses to enable a natural progression towards recognised swimming awards. - To discharge all health and safety requirements and immediately report all issues of health and safety that may arise to the Shift Manager on duty. - Review and adhere to the Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plan in the swimming pool area. - To provide an emergency capability and administer first aid as and when required. The following Qualifications are required: -Educated to GCSE level or equivalent and / or relevant professional experience. -Emergency First Aid at Work (only required if holding a NRASTC). · -Level 2 Swim Teaching (Swim England) or STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming. · -RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers (NRASTC).
