Garment Technologist

MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a leading fashion brand on the search for a Garment Technologist, based in Manchester.
This is a hands-on technical role within the product team, responsible for ensuring garments meet design intent, fit requirements, and commercial standards, from first sample through to production.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the full fitting process across womenswear, supporting menswear where required.
* Translate design concepts into technical specifications, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
* Work closely with Designers and Product Developers to deliver garments that meet brand DNA and quality standards.
* Conduct fit sessions, provide detailed feedback, and drive improvements with suppliers.
* Oversee sealing process from proto through to production, ensuring deadlines are met.
* Maintain and update tech packs, size charts, and construction details.
* Partner with suppliers to resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
* Monitor product quality, ensuring compliance with brand, legal, and safety standards.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Garment Technologist, ideally within fashion apparel.
* Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, pattern cutting, and fabrics.
* Experience fitting across womenswear; openness to support menswear categories.
* Skilled in tech pack creation, garment measurements, and fit comments.
* Collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering quality product.
* Confident communicator, able to influence designers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
