This includes work on VAWG, immigration, asylum and no recourse to public funds (NRPF), in collaboration with partners and victim-survivors, and developing influence strategies with parliaments, the NI Assembly and local authorities to secure greater rights and protections for Black, minoritised and migrant victim-survivors. Duties Promote Foyle Womens Aid and Southall Black Sisters values, projects, campaigns and strategy, creating resources and using appropriate communication channels Work with project partners and victim-survivors on VAWG, immigration, asylum and NRPF issues Deliver policy and public affairs influencing work and draft policy briefs, statements and reports Organise and facilitate seminars, conferences and other initiatives on relevant themes Raise public awareness of all forms of VAWG, prevention methods and victim-survivor needs Represent Foyle Womens Aid and Southall Black Sisters externally at meetings, seminars and conferences Foster relationships across teams to ensure policy asks and campaigns are rooted in frontline needs Enable stakeholders to access information, guidance and resources for social media, communications and policy advocacy Support training and educational activities, including community engagement events Maintain up-to-date knowledge through training and provide information for monitoring, evaluation, policy, research and training purposes General responsibilities Maintain clear records of work and produce reports on programmes and activities Manage an individual work plan, agree objectives with the team manager and monitor performance Take responsibility for personal learning and stay informed on relevant research, legislation, policy and practice Participate in supervision, training, meetings and service development Undertake necessary administrative tasks (word-processing, filing etc.) Assist with organising conferences and events for Foyle Womens Aid, the Family Justice Centre and Southall Black Sisters Adhere to all policies and procedures, integrating equalities and human rights across all work Ensure compliance with legal and contractual reporting requirements in policy advocacy and campaigning Attend and contribute to staff/team meetings, supervision and appraisals Undertake additional duties as needed to support smooth running of services, projects and campaigns, responding flexibly to changing requirements Essential knowledge Strong understanding of the experiences and needs of women and children affected by VAWG, honour-based abuse, institutional racism and the immigration/asylum systems Understanding of how policy influencing, campaigning and movement building achieve greater rights, support and protection for Black, minoritised and migrant victim-survivors Understanding of intersectional feminism and its application to communications and campaigning in a charity context Desirable knowledge and experience Knowledge and understanding of Southall Black Sisters work Experience in a policy or campaigns role (or demonstrable transferable experience/qualifications) Experience developing and analysing policy documents Experience working across teams or with multiple stakeholders to coordinate advocacy Experience supporting in-person and virtual events with multiple contributors Evidence of engaging government, parliamentary, local authority and statutory professionals Essential skills Excellent written and visual communication skills Ability to produce high-quality policy documents Strong relationship-building skills, working effectively with multidisciplinary colleagues and external contacts Adaptable, solution-oriented, proactive and positive approach Ability to manage competing demands, adapt to change and work on own initiative in a fast-paced environment Strong prioritisation and workload management skills Other essential requirements Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and equal opportunities, applying an intersectional approach in all work Demonstrated commitment to the values, vision and mission of Southall Black Sisters Willingness to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings How to apply Application method: Application form only (CVs will not be accepted) Application form: Available ator by emailing Deadline: Wednesday 11th February 2026 at 12 noon
