Our mission is to help businesses and their employees explore, set, and achieve their financial goals. This role supports the development of Trainee Financial Planners to reach competent adviser status (CAS), conducts competency assessments for new joiners via acquisitions, and monitors ongoing CAS Planner competency under supervision. The role helps ensure compliance with relevant legislation and procedures and supports effective systems and controls to mitigate business risks and ensure regulatory compliance. The position also fosters a collegiate relationship with advisers and support staff to promote competence across the company.
Responsibilities
* Act as first-line Supervisor to Financial Planners of varying experience, based in varying locations
* Ensure Financial Planners under your supervision are supervised in accordance with the Group T&C Scheme
* Deliver new entrant training and other training interventions as required
* Work closely with the Training & Development Team to fulfil the objectives of each Trainee through to CAS and beyond
* Undertake role plays, live observations, and competency assessments as required, and provide feedback to Planners
* Assess KPIs to identify development areas, agree CPD and deliver coaching and training to support and develop Planners
* Assist Group Compliance with keeping training material up to date and with development of new material as required
* Ensure own ongoing competency
* Promote and display the client-centric culture of the business
* Proactively share best practice
Critical Skills and Experience
* Experience in providing effective coaching
* A good understanding and knowledge of relevant FCA rules
* A good understanding of complaints procedures
* A good understanding of other relevant legislation, including financial crime and GDPR
* A good understanding of updating policies and procedures
* A good understanding of Training & Competency
* Working knowledge of and competence with Microsoft applications
Essential Qualifications
* Qualified to at least QCF Level 4 or equivalent qualification (H15, JO7 or AF6 are desirable)
Additional Information
* Regular travel to offices: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Kilmarnock and other UK offices as required
* Full-Time – 9am to 5pm with 1-hour lunch (35 hours)
