Role: Environmental Support - I have a requirement for an Environmental Support Engineer for a 12-month contract + for an exciting opportunity working for a tier 1 supplier into the Nuclear industry.
The role is largely remote with site visits as and when necessary - expenses covered!
Role overview:
Provide support and advice and documentation on environmental topics for all activities and services across the client's major programme that fall within the scope of the Environmental Management System (EMS). Facilitate the management and delivery of the EMS.
High-level accountabilities:
1. Monitor compliance with EPR and other regulatory requirements
2. Manage the technical development, production and review of documentation in support of the EMS
3. Assure the implementation of environmental requirements from the EMS within the operational/project area
4. Monitor compliance with the Environmental Permit through ensuring suitable arrangements are in place to deliver the client's major programme activities
5. Monitor compliance with the client organisation's other environmental obligations and sustainability goals
6. Engage in the implementation of the EMS standards and processes, to test the suitability and operability of the EMS
7. Analyse the client's major programme environmental performance metrics
8. Develop and proactively manage the interface and relationship with all internal and external regulators and stakeholders.
Skills required:
9. Detailed understanding of current EMS including ISO14001
10. Detailed understanding of current environmental legislation, standards, and guidance
11. Understanding of improvement techniques
12. Extensive experience in several of the following areas (gained within or outside a nuclear environment): EMS, Environmental assessments, ISO14001, Policies and Legislation, Sustainability, Front End, Project design, Commissioning,
13. Operations, and/or Decommissioning
