Your new role
Hays Education are looking for an experienced site supervisor to join our settings site team in Preston. You will be responsible for supporting aspects of site management, including health and safety, security, cleanliness, porterage, routine maintenance, refurbishment and minor repairs.
This is a permanent full-time position to start from December. You will be working the hours on a shift rota basis.
You will be required to go through full education vetting. With this in mind, a DBS on the update service would be advantageous. However, you can be provided with one should you require it.
Duties include
1. Day to day supervision of the operational areas, ensuring the buildings and premises are kept to a high standard of cleaning and repair and are safe for all users.
2. Following training to undertake legislativepliance tests and inspections, fire alarm, legionella, emergency lighting etc.
3. Act as a keyholder, carrying out security procedures for the buildings and grounds.
4. Undertake some cleaning tasks, which include window cleaning, corridor and floor buffing.
5. Drawing the attention to maintenance work required around the premises, either supporting minor maintenance internally or organising contractors on site where appropriate.
6. Ensuring that all areas are free from litter and that drains and gutters are free flowing.
7. Undertake maintenance, redecoration and refurbishment of grounds and buildings as necessary
8. Carry out routinepliance checks for fire alarms, boilers, water and batteries.
9. Carry out procedures in the event of a fire, floor, break-in etc.
10. Prepare the premises and site for any events or activities.
11. Set up and remove furniture as required.
What you'll need to succeed
12. A relevant vocational qualification in site management or facilities management, or equivalent experience
13. A good knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures
14. A good knowledge of building maintenance and repair techniques
15. A good knowledge of security systems and equipment
16. A flexible and proactive approach to work, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
