As a member of the Support Services team, you will be an integral part of the Prison healthcare team, supporting the delivery of care by ensuring all healthcare areas are IPC compliant and audited in line with Spectrum's policies. The role involves maintaining a safe, welcoming environment conducive to high-quality patient care.
HMP Liverpool is a busy, fast-paced environment, and this role involves a considerable level of physical activity.
The Support Services team supports both clinical and non-clinical staff and is responsible for coordinating and delivering services such as health and safety management, working closely with Prison Works, Estates, and Security Departments.
The post-holder will actively support service development, ensure compliance with national health and safety standards, and maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the department. You will manage your workload and work flexibly across all sites to support the physical and mental health clinical teams, ensuring continuity of service.
Main duties of the job

* Provide and receive routine information, demonstrating tact and persuasive skills; offer advice, instruction, or training to groups.
* Act as the lead contact between the healthcare department, the wider organization, and partnership agencies regarding supplies, visitors, and deliveries.
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure robust procurement and delivery of essential supplies.
* Coordinate job requests and maintenance within the healthcare department.
* Support clinical and operational staff, such as liaising with wing managers, clinical staff, and security for various operational needs.
* Act as the main contact for ICT services to ensure effective IT infrastructure.
* Coordinate with Health and Safety representatives to meet environmental and safety standards.

Person Specification
Education
* NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field such as Health & Social Care
* Relevant training like Manual Handling
* Qualifications in Infection Control, COSHH, and Health & Safety; ECDL or similar computer literacy
Knowledge
* Practical IT skills and applications
* Previous supervisory or autonomous working experience
* Experience in healthcare environments, preferably within a prison or secure setting
