We’re working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Pontypool to recruit a Trainee Teaching Assistant.
The school offers a warm, welcoming environment and has a fantastic, well‑supported Learning Resource Base for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). This provides a nurturing setting where students receive tailored support, and staff work closely together to help every child feel confident and achieve their potential.
This role is ideal for someone who loves supporting young people and helping them grow. Whether your background is in coaching, childcare, SEN support, youth work, or you’re simply looking to begin a new path in education, your passion and transferable skills will be genuinely valued here

What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting students in the classroom and assisting with the school’s Additional Learning Needs (ALN) provision
* Helping pupils stay focused, confident, and engaged in their learning
* Building positive relationships with students and staff
* Providing one-to-one or small group support where needed
* Learning and applying behaviour management strategies
* Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and encouraging school environment

Ideal candidates will be:
* Aged 18 or older
* Any previous experience with children or relevant qualifications is a bonus!

* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) — or a willingness to register (at your own cost)
* An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service — or a willingness to obtain one (at your own cost)
* Level 2 Safeguarding training
* Two professional references covering the last 24 months
