Our client, operating within the sectors of Renewables, Marine, Oil and Gas, Energy, Industrial, and Tunnelling, is recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to work on a permanent basis at their site in Trafford Park, Manchester.
Role Overview
The Electrical Design Engineer should have a strong background in electrical design engineering, capable of designing all aspects of control system panels. The role requires excellent skills in the build, installation, and commissioning of control system panels.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Proficiency with AutoCAD and ideally EPLAN.
* Experience in developing general arrangement drawings and schematics.
* Familiarity with PLC hardware and power distribution (24VDC and 240VAC).
* Experience with 4-20mA loop design for integration with PLC modules and field devices.
* Degree-level education.
* Full driving license.
* Ability to gain SC security clearance for marine applications.
* Willingness to support offshore work and be trained accordingly.
Responsibilities
1. Supervise workshop activities, ensuring safety and quality standards.
2. Develop and support control system panels, including schematics and arrangements.
3. Provide technical support for installation and commissioning.
4. Ensure timely project delivery and effective communication with the team.
5. Support health and safety compliance and contribute to offshore readiness.
6. Manage team supervision and support within the workshop environment.
7. Participate in Siemens Partner Program and other project-related activities.
8. Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and performance in all tasks.
Additional Requirements
The candidate must be proactive, support project delivery, and be available during working hours for communication. They should also support administrative tasks like timesheets and expense reporting.
