Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Addiction Worker based at Caley Court.

Hours:

From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

37 hours per week, Monday to Sunday

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

A UK car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.

What you will do:

* Deliver care to individuals with the most complex co-existing mental health and drug and/or alcohol dependent presentations.
* Making autonomous decisions with regard to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person centred care.
* Liaise with partner services to ensure integrated care delivery.Assist in the development of new procedures and projects.
* Provide support and line management to junior staff.
* Provide health advice, crisis support, and promote recovery.
* Uphold clinical standards and contribute to service improvement.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

* A degree, or equivalent knowledge, in a relevant area e.g. health or social care is essential.
* A post graduate qualification relating to alcohol and drug use is desirable.
* Experience of working in the field of addictions is essential.
* Experience of working in a related community setting is essential.
* Experience of working in needle exchange services desirable.
* In-depth knowledge of addiction related theory and practise is essential to be able to undertake comprehensive assessments of need and incorporate a range of cognitive - behavioural strategies to enhance lifestyle change.
