SEN Teaching Assistant - Challenging Behaviour Support - Thatcham
ASAP Start - £89 - £95 per day dependent on experience
There is an exciting opportunity to secure a 1-year contract at an 'Outstanding' two-form entry mainstream primary school based in Thatcham. This is a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant role supporting a small cohort of children with challenging behaviour and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). The position begins ASAP.
The school is looking for candidates who have a degree and some experience working with SEN, such as Autism, ADHD, or dyslexia. Experience with SEMH, ASD, Team Teach training, and confidence in managing challenging behaviour are desirable. A background in similar roles and GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or above are minimum standards.
This role involves supporting children with diverse needs including ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, global delay, SEMH, physical, and behavioural challenges. It offers excellent experience for aspiring teachers, with potential eligibility for the school's teacher training programme starting September 2026.
