Job Description
Our client is currently recruiting a HSEQ Manager – Civils who will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) systems across civil engineering projects. You will ensure compliance with legislation, drive a positive safety culture, and support operational teams in delivering projects safely, sustainably, and to required quality standards.ResponsibilitiesLead and promote a strong safety culture across all sites and officesEnsure compliance with UK HSE legislation and industry best practicesDevelop, implement, and maintain H&S policies, procedures, and risk management systemsCarry out site audits, inspections, and accident investigationsAdvise management and site teams on risk mitigation and safe working practicesMonitor incident trends and produce reports with corrective actionsEnsure environmental compliance across all civil engineering activitiesDevelop and implement environmental management systems (ISO 14001)Manage environmental risk assessments and sustainability initiativesLiaise with regulators and external stakeholders as requiredEnsure project delivery meets client specifications and industry standardsConduct internal audits and support external accreditation auditsDrive continuous improvement across project delivery processesKey Skills & ExperienceProven experience in a SHEQ Manager role within civil engineering projectsStrong knowledge of UK HSEQ legislation and CDM RegulationsAbility to train staffExperience managing ISO systems (9001, 14001, 45001)NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) – essentialInternal/Lead Auditor qualification preferredStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to influence and drive behavioural change on sitePlease note that this role will be 5 days in office. You will be expected to cover sites in Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Central Belt and Edinburgh.
