Key Responsibilities of a Secondary Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to ensure students remain engaged and on track.
* Assist teachers in delivering engaging and tailored lessons.
* Support students with SEN, behavioural challenges, or additional learning needs.
* Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
* Encourage student participation, independence, and confidence.
* Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities.
Requirements for a Secondary Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with secondary school-aged students (in school settings, tutoring, or youth work).
* Understanding of SEN, Autism, ADHD, and behavioural needs is desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
