Job Summary
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Chef. This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in everything from preparing and cooking homemade dishes, to keeping the kitchen running smoothly with ordering, kitchen diaries, and cleaning tasks. But this isn't just a back-of-house role. You'll also get the chance to bring your creativity to life through events, specials and have a supporting role in menu development. Duties
* Preparing and cooking delicious, homemade dishes that our guests love
* Helping to keep the kitchen running smoothly with ordering, stock checks and a bit of essential paperwork
* Rolling up your sleeves for the cleaning and day-to-day tasks that keep everything in tip-top shape
* Supporting the Head chef in supervising junior staff and KP's, leading by example with energy and enthusiasm
* Getting creative with menu ideas, specials and event menus - your input really will make a difference
* Being part of our events team, from summer festivals to themed nights, adding that extra bit of flavour to The Lugger experience
* Working as part of a fun, supportive team where everyone mucks in and has each others back.
Skills
* A solid background in cooking (We like to think this one goes without saying)
* Good knowledge of kitchen practices, food safety, and hygiene - Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate would be ideal
* An understanding of Safer Food Better Business (SFBB) would be a real bonus
* The ability to keep calm and organised in a busy kitchen (even when someone suggests adding cider to the chilli)
* A creative streak - from daily specials to festival feasts, we love fresh ideas
* Team spirit, a sense of humour, and a willingness to muck in with everything from deep cleans to supervising juniors
* Bonus points if you can survive a festival weekend, tame a rodeo bull (Metaphorically... mostly), or carve pumpkins under pressure at Halloween.

Pay: From £13.50 per hour
