Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive professional to join our team, supporting the management and development of our Corporate GIS. This role will play a key part in updating and maintaining datasets within ESRI ArcMap, ensuring accuracy and consistency across our spatial data systems. As part of the position, you will be responsible for producing high-quality plans and maps, while also supporting the integration and upkeep of information within other asset management systems. Your work will help ensure that essential data is reliable, accessible, and aligned with business needs.
What will you be doing?
* Update and maintain datasets on the Corporate Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geo-databases, other asset and related systems, producing plans for the various teams across the business.
* Maintain the integrity of the GIS, managing the data, supply and distribution of all information in support of Portsmouth Waters needs and objectives, supporting the efficient management of the water network.
* Mains laid GPS survey data from contractors, quality assure new mains and renewals as-laid and resolution of queries with Infrastructure and external contractors.
* Maintain and compile mains laid and abandoned lengths figures at close of schemes and for 6 monthly financial reporting.
* Visit sites to survey the location of new and renewed water mains and produce as-laid drawings from the surveys.
* Prepare drawings for renewals schemes and other electronic drawings to include updates of CAD network skeletons to support operational processes and procedures.
* Interpret documents, images, and other sources of validated information to capture, attribute and compile digital data to defined specifications, to enable other edits of GIS data and network boundaries.
* Investigate and resolve issues, liaising with technical resources when required.
* Update datasets in response to changes with business processes and procedures.
* Provide support to various departments with queries over GIS asset data including investigation of original documentation (As-Laid or historical paper mapping).

* A minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English.
* Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent qualification or demonstrable equivalent comparable experience.
* MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
* Working knowledge of ESRI / ARC GIS or similar software.
* Ability to quickly learn new software applications.
* Flexible, decisive, able to recommend changes and adaptable to change.
* Excellent communication (verbal including presentation), written and numerate skills.
* Accuracy and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and organise workloads to meet deadlines.
