Job Overview:
As the Baby Room Lead, you will play a key role in supporting the Nursery Management Team in the day-to-day operations of the nursery. You will assist in managing the team in the room, overseeing curriculum planning for your key group of children, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality nurturing care and education of children in the Baby Room. You will also take the lead in supporting staff development alongside the Management Team, liaising with parents and carers, and supporting safeguarding protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Management: Assist the Nursery Management Team in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring all operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Lead, support, and motivate a team of nursery staff, conducting regular supervisions, appraisals, and providing on-the-job training to ensure professional growth and development.
* Curriculum Oversight: Ensure that the curriculum is implemented effectively, promoting engaging and developmentally appropriate activities tailored to the individual needs of the children in your room.
* Staff Training & Development: Role model outstanding practise for your team to role model. Support the professional development of your team and encourage a culture of continuous improvement.
* Parent Liaison: Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers, addressing any concerns, organizing parent meetings, and providing feedback on children's progress. Support Transitions from nursery to schools each year.
* Safeguarding & Compliance: Support the designated safeguarding leads, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed, conducting risk assessments, and making referrals when necessary.
* Health & Safety: Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for children and staff, ensuring the nursery is fully compliant with health and safety regulations.
* Administrative Support: Assist with administrative duties, including managing children's records, maintaining attendance logs, and ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Level 3 or above in Early Years Education and Care (or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and safeguarding regulations.
* Leading a team, and supporting staff development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Passionate about early childhood education and committed to providing a nurturing environment for children.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Ability to lead by example and work collaboratively as part of a team.
