Protection & Control Engineer
Location: Yorkshire, London, Suffolk, Scotland (Flexible locations)
Salary: up to £48,000 (+ benefits)

Turner Lovell is recruiting for a Protection & Control Engineer to join a growing UK-based engineering design and infrastructure consultancy.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical design engineer to get hands-on with high-voltage substation projects (11kV to 400kV) across transmission and distribution environments, including both greenfield and brownfield schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
Support senior engineers and project leads in the end-to-end delivery of protection and control system designs.
Create design documentation, including single-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring layouts, cable schedules, and panel drawings.
Produce technical specifications and logic drawings for protection, SCADA, and automation systems.
Assist in developing relay logic and protection settings for digital protection relays (e.g., SEL, Siemens, GE).
Liaise closely with engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure design alignment with project goals.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
Min 4 years of experience delivering P&C or SCADA system designs within high-voltage substation environments.
Familiarity with relay logic files, protection coordination principles, and digital relay programming.
Understanding of UK industry standards and regulations, including CDM.
Chartered Engineer status or working toward chartership is advantageous.
