Financial Accountant (Ticketing) – Maternity Cover
This role is based at Woking Head Office. You’ll report to the UK Ticketing Finance Manager and will work closely with the General Ledger team and Commercial Finance. Through ownership of a number of technical balance sheet accounts across all UK companies, the UK Financial Accountant will be a key player in delivering UK internal reporting, ensuring accounting processes, controls, and records are adhered to and supporting the UK Financial Controller and Finance Manager in providing an efficient and effective service.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain ledgers for UK Ticketing companies by preparing weekly and month end accounting adjustments to ensure accurate information is reported in the accounting system (D365).
* Own a number of technical balance sheet accounts, applying consistent and effective methodology across all UK entities, becoming a subject matter expert in those fields.
* Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Support the UK Financial Controller and Finance Manager in producing the monthly Ticketing P&Ls and balance sheets.
* Gather and analyse information for inclusion in the UK’s internal and external reporting.
* Assist in the production of monthly reports for management concerning the P&L, providing clear and articulate variance analysis on areas of responsibility.
* Provide ad‑hoc support to the business partnering team.
* For accountable areas, ensure that financial controls and processes are developed, documented and maintained.
* Identify financial control and process improvements and implement changes to strengthen the control environment and increase efficiency.
* Advocate the change agenda enthusiastically.
* Assist in identifying operational and technical problems and suggest amendments to working practices and policies.
* Manage a Ticketing Assistant Accountant.
Skills, Qualities, and Experience
* Finalist or part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or AAT Professional Diploma).
* Experience working in a finance function, including month‑end work and reconciliations.
* Enthusiastic and adaptable working style, keen to identify improvement opportunities and pursue personal growth.
* Excellent Excel and IT skills, with experience of D365 (Dynamics) preferable.
* Strong intellect combined with attention to detail, well‑organised, process‑driven and delivery‑focused.
* Ability to work well under pressure and manage conflicting deadlines.
* Adaptability and a keenness to learn.
* Straightforward, open personality and an enthusiastic, positive attitude.
