Position Overview of Packaging Engineer
Daher is the principal partner of Rolls-Royce Aerospace for the management of packaging design, manufacture, and associated services. As part of a high-performing programme team, we are recruiting a Packaging Engineer with a proven track record of success—ideally gained in the automotive, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing sectors.

Key Responsibilities
* Partner directly with the customer to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous innovation across packaging operations.
* Develop and deliver new packaging concepts, including returnable systems, simplified single-use packaging, and sustainability-driven designs.
* Lead the process from initial concept through to prototype, testing, validation, and customer sign-off.
* Use your experience from automotive or industrial sectors to challenge legacy solutions and propose new, scalable approaches.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders (Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality) to ensure all packaging solutions are operationally viable.
* Act as a project lead on packaging development streams, ensuring actions are delivered to time, cost, and quality targets.
* Share your expertise to support junior team members and promote best practices in packaging design and supply chain integration.
* Provide data and reporting support to management as needed for customer meetings and internal reviews.
Essential Requirements
* Proven success in packaging development, ideally within automotive, aerospace, industrial manufacturing, or logistics environments.
* Experience bringing innovative packaging solutions to life—from concept to implementation.
* Strong understanding of supply chain flows, packaging functionality, and material use.
* Excellent communication skills and confidence in customer-facing roles.
* Creative, curious mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to read 2D drawings, plus experience with CAD software.
* Eligible to travel nationally and occasionally internationally.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
Desirable
* Degree or equivalent in Packaging, Engineering, Design, or related discipline.
* Exposure to OEM or Tier 1 supplier environments.
* Familiarity with packaging compliance and standards (e.g. ISO, VDA, UN).
