Job Overview

We're looking for a part-time Assistant Psychologist working 22.5 hours per week.

You will join a friendly and supportive, well-established, and knowledgeable multi-professional team. You will receive quality reflective supervision. You will use your skills to support quality assessments and interventions and influence service improvements. You will have opportunities grow in your career and continuing professional development. You will be a vital member of the team helping the system to understand the complete identity of the young person including their neurodivergence, mental health and developmental profile.

The service offers excellent opportunities for supervision, service development, service evaluation and research, teaching and training. We have good supervision and operational structures and an excellent track record of CPD, as well as good links with Oxford University, particularly with the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology. The service is also committed to evidence-based and evidence generating practice and you will have the opportunity to be part of service evaluation and Quality Improvement projects.

Main duties of the job

Support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service, providing psychological assessments and interventions under supervision.
Assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans, and contribute to the organisation and running of therapeutic groups for young people and their families/carers.
Participate in clinically related administration, including conducting audits, collecting statistics, and developing research projects.
Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, referral assessments, and multi-agency meetings.
Assist in the design and implementation of service development projects, and contribute to the training and support of other staff in psychological care

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

To undertake this role you should

Be assertive and able work with a high degree of professionalism
Have a proven track record of innovation and creativity and a passion for working with children and young people with neurodivergence You will be working with supervision of qualified psychologists to provide highly adapted pieces of work to support young people, support with quality assessments and support the service in in development projects and audits
