Job description
To commence as soon as possible until 31stAugust 2026, position to be reviewed then.
TEMPORARY Level 2 Teaching Assistant
27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
The Governors of Blaenbaglan Primary School wish to appoint a responsible, reliable person for the post of Teaching Assistant. This post comes with the responsibility of undertaking a lunchtime supervisory duty of 2.5 hours per week paid at SCP3. The post will be temporary until 31st August 2026 due to a shortfall in staff.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about working with children, have excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team. You should also be flexible and able to motivate our children to succeed.
The Governors will be seeking the following skills/personal qualities:
1. Enthusiasm and self-motivation
2. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
3. Excellent organisation and communication skills.

Salary Range: SCP 3 – 5 (£25,342 - £26,146 pro rata, subject to term time adjustment). The salary stated will be subject to a term time only adjustment for the commencement of employment outside of the start date of 1st September.
