Support the Operations Manager in identifying, developing, and implementing departmental projects and initiatives. Drive continuous improvement through KPIs and active participation in site-wide initiatives. Lead daily review meetings, setting production targets focused on performance, quality, safety, and waste reduction. Build strong relationships with other managers to enhance team performance and results. Foster a supportive work environment that encourages ownership and discretionary effort. Motivate and develop Area Leaders and staff through regular communication, appraisals, and training. Provide and coordinate training to build team flexibility, competence, and capability. Inspire the team to meet volume, yield, and cost targets while exceeding quality standards. Ensure departmental productivity and compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality policies. Provide leadership in non-standard situations, including site evacuations. Clearly communicate departmental targets and ensure alignment with company policies. Contribute to recruitment and labour planning processes. Manage absence, disciplinary, grievance, and counselling procedures in line with HR guidelines. Minimise absenteeism by supporting Area Leaders and promoting a proactive team culture and return-to-work processes. Prioritise health and safety for self and others; comply with statutory duties and company procedures. Work safely and adhere to all Health & Safety rules and policies.
