Apprenticeship Programmes are a great way to earn and learn. Our Apprentice Assistant Water Network Technician Programme offers a blend of personal and professional development, exposing you to the core of our business.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be supported every step of the way. Your role is to gain practical experience in several teams, developing your knowledge and understanding of Severn Trent and the processes. You will communicate data effectively to a wide range of stakeholders and spend time with our Water Network team, working outdoors to identify and reduce leakage across our network. You’ll interact with distribution service technicians, repair and maintenance teams, call centres, network optimisation teams, contractors and customers to build strong stakeholder relationships.

How the Programme Works
You will be based at Finham in Coventry and gain exposure in different areas of the department to build the right skills for your career here at Severn Trent. You will have 1-1 meetings with business leads, mentors, a study buddy, the cohort leader, and the New Talent Team to discuss development and career ambitions. You will study towards a Level 3 qualification in Water Industry Network. Read the information about this standard before applying.
What You Will Learn
* How to identify leakage using data, tools, and techniques.
* Advising customers on water fittings and maintaining meters and loggers.
* Identifying water network issues and applying fault-finding techniques.
* Calibrating equipment such as temporary loggers and pressure gauges.
* Operating the water network safely and protecting the environment.

About The Programme
Our New Talent Team will guide you and support you every step of the way. Your line manager, mentor and apprentice buddy will help you reach your full potential at Severn Trent.
Location: Finham, Coventry, Warwickshire, CV3 6SD
Standard: Water Industry Network
Apprenticeship Level: 3
Apprenticeship Duration: 30 months
Starting Salary: £22,500
Entry Criteria: For this Level 3 apprenticeship, maths is used in everyday operational scenarios and candidates should have GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above, or be willing to study to reach the equivalent standard by the end of the programme. We encourage applications from those who have already achieved GCSE English and Maths and from those willing to work towards it with our support.
Driving Requirements: A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required. Some sites are remote and not served by public transport.
You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 to 15:30.
