Do you have a passion for helping children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) succeed at a critical stage of their education? Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work with Year 6 pupils across primary schools in Sheffield, providing focused support in the run-up to SATs and the transition into secondary school.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with pupils, building trust, and helping children grow in confidence, independence, and resilience.
About the Role:
Delivering targeted one-to-one and small-group support to Year 6 pupils with SEND
Supporting pupils academically in preparation for SATs, adapting tasks to meet individual learning needs
Helping children manage anxiety, build confidence, and develop positive learning behaviours
Working collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs to deliver structured interventions
Supporting pupils with organisational and transition skills ahead of their move to secondary school
About You:
Experience working with children or young people with additional needs, ideally within a school, SEND provision, care, youth work, or similar environment
Calm, patient, and adaptable, with a nurturing but structured approach
Confident supporting pupils during periods of pressure and change
Available to work at least 3 days per week
A Teaching Assistant qualification is not essential
