Overview
We are seeking a motivated and child‑centred Elective Home Education (EHE) Case Officer to support the Local Authority’s statutory duties around Elective Home Education and to work directly with families to help ensure every child receives a suitable and efficient education.
Responsibilities
* Gather and review information from families to support assessments.
* Prepare reports, letters and documentation to a high standard.
* Maintain accurate and secure case records and data systems.
* Support home visits and ensure lone‑working procedures are followed.
* Liaise with schools, internal teams and partner agencies to support statutory and safeguarding processes.
* Provide clear advice, guidance and sign‑posting to parents.
* Contribute to multi‑agency meetings and information sharing.
* Support low‑level casework and routine monitoring under the direction of the EHE Advisory Teachers.
Qualifications
* Experience working with children, young people or families.
* Excellent communication skills, able to communicate clearly, calmly and confidently with a wide range of people.
* Strong organisational skills, able to gather, interpret and organise information effectively.
* Ability to produce high quality written work and maintain accurate records.
* Empathy, professionalism and a child‑centred approach.
* Confidence using IT systems and digital tools.
* Understanding of Elective Home Education, safeguarding and relevant statutory guidance (or willingness to learn).
* Capability to manage competing priorities and work independently as well as collaboratively.
Employment Details
Full‑time, fixed‑term for 12 months.
