At the heart of our Data Team, Data Engineers play a pivotal role by creating pipelines and tables that power impactful dashboards, enable self‑service analytics, and support innovative machine learning models and real‑time data products.
As a Data Engineer, you will be involved in engineering pipelines that drive key decisions and provide data science with powerful datasets to enable and drive new business insights.
Data Engineers work alongside BI Developers and Data Scientists in cross‑functional teams with key impacts and visions. Our department strives to give Data Engineers high levels of autonomy and freedom to innovate, continually refine technical and soft skills, and pursue clear progression plans with training opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Make our data lake more accessible, building new data marts and designing data models that even basic SQL users can use.
* Build data pipelines with Spark or DBT.
* Use SQL to transform data into meaningful insights.
* Orchestrate pipelines with DAGs in Airflow.
* Participate in SCRUM ceremonies (stand‑ups, back‑logs, demos, retrospectives, planning).
* Deploy changes with Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
Qualifications
* Experience as a Data Engineer using SQL and Python.
* Exposure to DBT or similar data‑transformation tools.
* Exposure to Apache Airflow or similar tools for DAG creation.
* Capability to use popular data modeling tools to diagram proposed tables.
* Good communicator.
* Ability to work within Agile, considering minimum viable products, story‑pointing and sprints.
