We are currently seeking an inspiring, knowledgeable and enthusiastic Psychology & Sociology Teacher to join a prestigious Independent School in Northampton. The department benefits from: • Modern, well-resourced teaching rooms • Access to digital assessment tools and research resources • A curriculum that encourages critical thinking, debate and analytical skills • Strong uptake at A-Level and Sixth Form enrichment projects • A culture of discussion, independent inquiry and academic stretch About the Role As the Psychology & Sociology Teacher, your responsibilities will include: • Teaching Psychology and Sociology across KS4–KS5 • Planning and delivering engaging, academically challenging lessons • Supporting students through exam preparation, coursework and extended projects • Encouraging debate, critical analysis and independent thought • Contributing to departmental planning, assessment strategies and resource development • Leading or supporting enrichment activities such as social science clubs, guest lectures or research projects • Participating actively in whole-school life, including form tutoring and co-curricular commitments Small class sizes and a highly motivated student body provide an ideal environment for delivering ambitious, intellectually stimulating lessons. Experience and Qualifications • Degree in Psychology, Sociology or a related discipline • PGCE with QTS (or equivalent) • Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching up to A-Level • Experience in independent schools advantageous but not essential • Ability to inspire curiosity, critical thinking and academic excellence • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills Salary Competitive salary based on the Independent School pay scale and dependent on experience.
