Accounts Payable - Immediate Start - Marketing Agency - London (hybrid)

Our client is a fast-growing, mid-tier marketing agency working with a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors. As the business continues to expand, the finance function is being strengthened to support operational excellence and long-term growth.
The Role
Our client is seeking a confident and organised Accounts Payable Executive to take ownership of the end-to-end AP function across multiple profit and loss accounts. This is a hands‑on role that will be central to maintaining financial control, supporting commercial decision‑making, and ensuring accurate and timely processing across the business.
While the core focus of the role will be Accounts Payable, this position offers genuine progression and exposure to broader finance responsibilities over time, including support towards an Assistant Management Accountant pathway.
Key Responsibilities
* Full ownership of the Accounts Payable process across multiple P&Ls
* Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
* Matching, coding, and reconciling invoices to purchase orders and budgets
* Managing supplier relationships and resolving queries promptly
* Preparing and running payment runs
* Performing regular supplier statement reconciliations
* Supporting month‑end processes and accruals
* Assisting with intercompany transactions where applicable
* Maintaining robust financial controls and documentation
* Contributing to process improvements and system efficiencies
Development & Progression
This role is designed to grow with the individual. Alongside core AP responsibilities, the successful candidate will gain exposure to some of the following:
* Management accounts preparation
* Accruals and prepayments
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Budget tracking and variance analysis
* Wider commercial finance tasks
Our client is committed to supporting development into a more rounded finance role, with progression toward Assistant Management Accountant responsibilities over time.
About You
* Proven experience in Accounts Payable
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* Confident managing deadlines and high volumes
* Experience with accounting/finance systems
* Proactive, organised, and comfortable taking ownership
* Strong communication skills, particularly when dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Experience within a creative, marketing, media, or agency environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
