Role Title: Monitoring & Logging Engineer Duration: contract to run until 30/10/2026 Location: Knutsford, Hybrid 3 days per week onsite Rate: up to £416.86 p/d Umbrella inside IR35 Role purpose / summary The Monitoring & Logging Engineer designs, builds, and maintains observability capabilities across applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms. The role ensures reliable log ingestion, actionable monitoring, and high‑quality telemetry to support operations, incident response, and platform assurance. Key Responsibilities Monitoring & Observability Implement and manage monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Elastic, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or similar tools. Build dashboards, alerts, and health checks for performance, availability, and reliability. Define monitoring standards and onboarding requirements for new services and platforms. Log Pipeline Engineering Develop and maintain log collection pipelines, including parsing, filtering, enrichment, and routing. Ensure consistent, compliant log ingestion from servers, applications, and cloud services. Optimise data retention, indexing, and storage efficiency.
