 
        
        Band 6 Neonatal Staff Nurse (Secondment)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our excellent neonatal team here at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT). Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is one of the biggest and busiest Level 2 units in London, caring for babies born at 27 weeks gestation and taking pride in providing the perfect environment in which these tiny neonates can grow, thrive and develop. The unit comprises a total of 32 cots, including 3 intensive cots, 8 high‑dependency cots and 21 special‑care cots and manages an extensive range of medical cases within culturally diverse boroughs.
We have a dedicated and dynamic multidisciplinary team that maintains the highest standards of care for our neonatal population. The successful applicant will join a team that includes Neonatologists, Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, a neonatal community outreach service and a dedicated Education Team providing clinical training and support. We also work closely with allied health professionals to deliver family‑centred and psychosocial care for our patients and families.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated, flexible, hardworking, positive‑thinking Neonatal Qualified In Speciality Nurse to assist in providing high‑quality care and promoting care for all our babies and their families.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the care of one or a defined group of babies within the Neonatal Unit without supervision and for utilising and further developing specialist skills to provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualized patient care. The applicant will also actively participate in and contribute to the management of the clinical area.

Person Specification
EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS
 * RN/RCN with current registration at degree level.
 * Neonatal qualification QIS and NLS.
 * NLS Provider / NLS Trained.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES
 * The ability to effectively function as part of a multidisciplinary team.
 * The ability to effectively prioritise own workload.
 * Evidence of research and audit work.
