Overview
Join to apply for the School Staff Nurse role at Compass.
We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Enhanced Public Health Nursing Service in Tower Hamlets. This is a varied role where you will support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, working with children, young people and families aged 5 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs.
About the Role
Your work will cover a wide range of health needs including physical and emotional wellbeing, sexual health, substance use, healthy lifestyles and long-term conditions. You will provide assessments, brief interventions and proactive public health initiatives, as well as contributing to safeguarding and early help processes. The role is diverse and community focused. You may find yourself supporting children in schools, delivering smoking cessation, pregnancy or STI testing, sexual health advice, or health education sessions, and working closely with families and professionals across education, social care and health services. This is your opportunity to make a direct and lasting difference to children and families in Tower Hamlets, helping them access the care, advice and support they need to live healthier and happier lives.
About You
Are you the kind of nurse who sees more than symptoms? Someone who wants to understand the whole child, the young person, their family and their world, and help them feel healthier, safer and more supported?
We are looking for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people. To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A recognised RN qualification (Child branch or RSCN desirable)
* Experience of working with children, young people and families
* Skills in delivering interventions one to one or in groups
* Experience of managing a caseload in a community or team setting
* Strong skills in communication, empathy and building relationships
* The ability to work flexibly, prioritise and adapt to changing needs
It would be great if you also bring experience in public health or school nursing, but above all we are looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and values led.
If you are ready to use your nursing skills to empower children and families and support them to live healthier lives, we would love to hear from you.
