The Shift Manager role reports to the Operations Manager and leads all aspects of the daily shift operation in a cost-effective and productive manner. The Shift Manager will ensure that service levels meet agreed standards and KPIs, effectively managing all colleagues on the shift to meet customer expectations.
Key responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the warehousing operation for the shift, ensuring effective and accurate sortation of goods.
2. Ensure all activities are conducted in line with company policies in a safe and proactive manner.
3. Manage costs and performance of the shift.
4. Lead and engage a team to deliver excellent customer service.
5. Manage performance, conduct, absence, engagement, training, and development of team members, holding people accountable to departmental and company standards.
6. Monitor KPIs, identify and communicate actions, and highlight areas for improvement.
7. Provide a shift summary and handover record, detailing and acting on any exceptions.
Essential criteria for this role
* Previous experience in the logistics or distribution industry.
