Oaklands Global are currently seeking highly skilled and motivated B1 or B1/B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineers to join their client on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers to work in a dynamic environment, carrying out maintenance on a range of aircraft types in line with UK CAA regulations. The opportunity is also there to gain new types.

Job Purpose: Responsible for carrying out aircraft maintenance in compliance with company procedures, aircraft technical data, local authority regulations and EH & S practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Reports directly to the Maintenance Manager
2. Holds UK CAA issued Maintenance License or accepted equivalent
3. Is able to work off trade, in order to support the varying demands of maintenance and the other trade certifiers
4. Helps to maintain clean and presentable facilities for all planned work, ensuring that the highest industry standards are met in terms of husbandry and working environment
5. Assists with the coordination of the hangar activity to ensure smooth and effective control of maintenance.
6. Supports the Maintenance Manager with the daily maintenance activity
7. Supports, promotes and drives the On Time Delivery for every base maintenance. Ensuring that all resources and staff shortfalls are reported
8. Responsible for the correct and timely recording of maintenance
9. Reports any errors or near misses, and support in the investigation and preventative actions
10. Responsible for ensuring discipline of personal tool control on the shop floor
11. Responsible for risk assessments of tasks undertaken (self) within area of operation, including Line maintenance
12. Support company EH & S discipline and expectation
13. Delivers strategic projects as defined by the Maintenance Manager
14. Carry out continuous improvement investigations and root cause analysis investigations as requested to reduce quality escapes and COPQ
15. Carries out any reasonable request by the Maintenance Manager

Requirements

16. Reasonable leadership & man-management skills
17. Ability to provide strong drive and motivation
18. Knowledge of planning
19. Solid problem-solving ability and organisational skills
20. Flexible and able to manage varying demands and workloads
21. Understanding of continuous improvement philosophies
22. Understanding of EH&S practices and policies
23. Knowledge of human factors, human performance and limitations
24. Knowledge of logistic processes
25. Knowledge of organisational capabilities, privileges and limitations
26. Knowledge of Part- & any other relevant regulations
27. Knowledge of relevant parts of the maintenance organisation exposition and procedures
28. Knowledge of occurrence reporting systems (mandatory & internal) and understanding of the importance of reporting occurrences, incorrect maintenance data and existing or potential defects
29. Knowledge of safety risks linked to the working environment
30. Knowledge of Safety Management Systems and Just Culture
31. Knowledge of CDCCL when relevant
32. Knowledge of EWIS when relevant
33. Understanding of professional integrity, behaviour and attitude towards safety
34. Understanding of conditions for ensuring continuing airworthiness of aircraft and components
35. Understanding of his/her own human performance limitations
36. Understanding of personnel authorisations and limitations
37. Ability to consider human performance and limitations
38. Ability to determine required qualifications for task performance
39. Ability to confirm proper accomplishment of maintenance tasks
40. Ability to identify and properly plan performance of a critical task
41. Ability to prioritise tasks and report the discrepancies
42. Ability to process the work requested by the operator
43. Ability to properly process removed, uninstalled and rejected parts
44. Ability to promote the safety policy
45. Ability to properly record and sign for work accomplished
46. Ability to understand work orders, work cards and refer to and use applicable maintenance data
47. Ability to use IT systems
48. Resources management and production planning skills
49. Teamwork, decision-making and leadership skills
50. Ability to encourage a positive safety culture and apply a Just Culture
