Job Description:
We are St Helens Borough Council
Located in the heart of the Northwest, near Liverpool, Manchester, and Lancashire, St Helens is a modernising Council passionate and ambitious for the children, families, communities, and workforce we support. We are focused on transforming care and putting children at the center of our services. Our highly valued, skilled, and supported workforce is key to this progress.
Our workplace vision and values guide us, and employee contributions are essential to our culture. We offer benefits including well-being initiatives, financial benefits, flexible ways of working, and learning and development support.
We are seeking an Assessment & Review Worker for the CHC and DOLS Team, based at Forster House, comprising Social Workers, Best Interest Assessors, Assessment and Review Workers, and a supportive admin team.
The role involves arranging and managing reviews for individuals supported by the Local Authority and ICB, across settings like private homes, residential or nursing care, sheltered accommodation, and supported living. The reviews ensure support continues to meet care needs under the Care Act 2014. Additional duties include assisting the team with Duty roles and conducting joint visits where necessary.
This role offers valuable experience, working alongside Social Workers and Managers, with opportunities to collaborate with ICB colleagues. Support includes a thorough induction, monthly supervision, and peer support.
The authority is committed to safeguarding and expects all staff to share this commitment.
The team has flexible working arrangements, combining home and office work.
