Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering exclusively with a leading & rapidly growing financial services group to recruit a dynamic Finance Systems Accountant for a 12-month fixed term contract to join their accounting function based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. The position will play a key role in the successful implementation of a new ERP system, an exciting opportunity that will contribute to a major transformation project that will further enhance their financial processes & reporting capabilities. The position is open to experienced Finance Systems Accountants or Management Accountants who have been involved in projects relating to system changes/implementations. Offering remote/office hybrid working of 2 days on-site, 3 days remote with flexible working hours & further competitive benefits. This is a full-time role; however part-time applicant might be considered if they have the relevant experience.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve being the finance lead in the implementation of a new ERP system, ensuring seamless integration, data accuracy, and alignment with business requirements. You will serve as the primary liaison between the finance team and the implementation partner, facilitating effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. Design and develop insightful financial reports and dashboards to support strategic decision-making and performance management. You will document new system processes, controls, and procedures to build a robust knowledge base and ensure business continuity. You will provide hands-on support during month-end and quarter-end processes, by backfilling finance team members' responsibilities while other colleagues focus on the system implementation. Along with processing payments, journals, reconciliations & ad-hoc duties.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this fast-paced Finance Systems Accountant role, you will need experience in a similar position, proven experience in developing/implementing or enhancing finance systems. Ability to deliver financial reports to a diverse range of stakeholders, strong analytical & problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. You have strong communication skills to build internal/external relationships at all levels, a proactive/adaptable working approach to thrive in a rapidly growing & changing environment. Ideally, you will be qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA, however, candidates' part-qualified or qualified by experience will be considered. You will have strong MS Excel skills, along with the ability to manipulate data. Experience within the financial services or insurance sectors, along with Sage Intacct experience & ERP systems would be advantageous, but not essential.

This Finance Systems Accountant role offers a salary between £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, dependable on experience based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
