Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Therapy Services at Hillingdon Hospital. The role is within the Neurological Rehabilitation Team on the Alderbourne Rehabilitation Unit. The Assistant will support patients in their rehabilitation and help them reach their full potential.
After induction, the successful candidate will manage a caseload of patients, providing safe stair climbing, walking practice, exercise programmes, and walk‑aid progression. Administrative tasks include monitoring stock, cleaning, and maintaining equipment to reduce infection risk. The role also involves manual handling of patients and close collaboration with physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other team members.
Hours of work: 8.15 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Role responsibilities
* Work flexibly to support the therapy team and meet the changing needs of patients.
* Provide support for patients with complex needs, using good communication, organisational and time‑management skills.
* Assist with manual handling and facilitate safe walking practice.
* Monitor and manage patient caseload during induction and thereafter.
* Perform administrative tasks, including stock monitoring and equipment maintenance.
Person specification
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Maths and English at C or above).
* Willingness to undertake departmental training to achieve required clinical competencies.
* Experience working as part of a health or multidisciplinary team, ideally in a neuro rehab setting.
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. healthcare).
* Evidence of vocational study or further education.
Clinical criteria
* Experience working within the NHS.
* Experience within a patient‑facing role.
